Cusco│Wiñay Wayna │ Aguas Calientes │ Machu Picchu │Cusco
In the morning you travel by train until you reach Kilometer 104 where the trail starts. From here, you will walk about 4 hours to the Inca site Wiñay Wayna (2,650 m / 8,694.23 ft). You then continue on to “Inti Punku” (‘Sun Gate’ 2,720 m / 9,923.88 ft) from where you have the first spectacular view of Machu Picchu. You walk down the last part of the trail, but before reaching Machu Picchu you take a bus to go down to the nearby town of Aguas Calientes, leaving the visit to Machu Picchu for the next day.
Early in the morning, you take a bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu where you have a 2 hour guided tour. After finishing the tour, you have free time to explore this magical site on your own. You then descend by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch and board the train back to Ollantaytambo where our bus is waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
