Ushuaia | Nationalpark Tierra de Fuego | Isla Martillo | Cabo San Pablo
Welcome to the southernmost city in the world! You are welcomed at the airport and taken to your hotel. Use the afternoon to explore Ushuaia on your own. We recommend a walk along the banks of the Beagle Channel as it will give you fantastic views of the mountains and the channel.
Today you will explore the national park Tierra del Fuego on foot and by canoe. First, you will visit the most southern post office in the world before you start your hike along the coastal hiking trail past rugged cliffs and through varied vegetation. After lunch you will row in a rubber dinghy on the Rio Lapataia until you reach the bay of the same name, where the Panamericana ends.
By boat, you will cross the Beagle Channel from Usuaia to the Estancia Harberton. On the way you will pass islands populated by cormorants, giant petrels, albatrosses, seals and the famous lighthouse Les Eclaireurs. Afterwards you will continue by speedboat to Isla Martillo, where you will go ashore and be greeted by numerous cute Magellanic and Gentoo penguins. After a visit to the Acatushun Museum you will make your way back to Ushuaia.
Very early in the morning you will leave for the direction of Cabo San Pablo. After visiting the authentic bakery La Unión in the town of Tolhuin, you will continue on an unpaved road to the coast. During a short hike to an old lighthouse you can admire the shipwreck “Desdémona”, which has been lying on this beach for more than 40 years. After visiting the mysterious giant, you will go to the Estancia Rolito, an enchanting country house that seems to preserve the family charm, who are dedicated to sheep breeding.
We hope you enjoyed the special atmosphere in Tierra del Fuego. In due course you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the airport.
